Also called cep, this is a member of the Boletus edulis species of wild mushroom. Porcini (plural) can weigh up to a pound and their light brown caps can range from 1 to 10 inches in diameter. They have a smooth, meaty texture and a strong, woodsy flavor.
A relative of the rabbit but larger, hares have darker flesh and an earthier flavor. Wild hare is also called jackrabbit.
A wild mushroom with a funnel-like shape and yellowish orange color. It has a fruity smell, delicate nutty flavor, and a meaty texture. It is usually imported from Europe.
A citrus fruit that is orange in color, and larger than lemons but smaller than grapefruits in size. There are different types of oranges - sweet oranges (e.g. navel orange, valencia orange, blood orange), mandarin oranges (e.g. satsuma, tangerine, clementine), and bitter oranges (e.g. seville orange, bergamot).
